Champlain earns their first Win

 Southdale – With Champlain having only registered six goals thus far, and East Selkirk sitting at 5 goals-for, it was only fitting that the former defeated the latter by a score of
6 – 5 to register its first win of the campaign. Indeed, it was a battle of two bottom-feeding squads (who have both struggled out of the gate in the early half) teetering on the precipice of last place in the Minor Bantam A2 standings. East Selkirk (1-3-0) was looking to bounce back after getting shelled by Dakota last week, while Champlain (0-3-1) was looking to avoid a fourth consecutive loss. Champlain came cruising out of the gate in the opening frame. Their crisp, tape-to-tape, passes and frantic fore checking style created numerous scoring chances, which were quickly turned away by Evan Gauvin – who was under fire for the better part of the first period.

AA Directors Cup Coaches

The WMHA AA Council is currently looking for qualified coaches to coach the AA Directors Cup team heading to Morris, MB – April 9 to 11, 2010. Applicants must be currently coaching a Winnipeg Minor team for the 09/10 season. Selected applicants will also be required to attend Minor Bantam AA games throughout the 2nd half to identify players. The Director Cup Birth Year is 1996.
